Mighty bear thwarted by cat door

Monday, August 17, 2015, 10:03 AM - Want a cat door, but are afraid of raccoons and other pests getting in?
That's a common concern, but when it comes to black bears, rest assured: One Idaho man can say for a certainty cat doors are more than a match for black bears.
The picture above, shot by Doug Harder of Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho, has been making the rounds after Harder snapped it on Thursday.
Harder already had some bear run-ins even before the black bear above tried to nose its way into his condo.
One individual, along with two cubs, had already visited the condo before, KREM reports, climbing up to his second-floor balcony to raid his bird feeder.
His bear encounters got a little too much to handle, however. Harder got home from vacation earlier this month to find a bear had broken into his condo through a balcony door he had left ajar.
Aside from eating food and relieving itself on the carpet, the bear didn't do much damage.
"He likes flour, brownie mix, Toblerone and went all the way to the back bedroom for a can of Pepsi!!! It took about 2 hours with a carpet cleaner to clean it up," Harder wrote on Facebook.
Harder shut the balcony door, but the bear seemed to be still interested, as it came back twice on Thursday, when Harder snapped the pics.
