Massive power outage in Toronto explained

About 250,000 residents living in west Toronto were left in the dark Tuesday night.
"The cause of the outage is currently under investigation," Hydro One initially said after Tuesday's blackout. "There were no injuries or health and safety issues reported due to the incident."
The company later concluded that the massive outage was a result of two hydro lines touching.
They said it happened when a transmission line came into contact with a distribution line that was built under it.
They touched when increased demand resulted in the line heating, which caused it to sag closer to the ground and touch the line underneath, according to The Canadian Press.
Officials say they will create more space between the lines to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
