Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 3:04 PM - A 54-year-old freediver in the Czech Republic is taking the "polar bear plunge" concept to a whole other level -- by donning a speedo, cutting a hole into the ice on a frozen lake and going for a swim.
Petr Kapoun became internet famous this week when video and photos of his icy stunt when viral.

Last month, Kapoun used a yellow string to help guide him under a frozen lake. It's not clear what the temperature was on the day of the sucessfully-completed swim, but Lake Milada's average January temperature ranges between a high of 3°C and a low of -1°C.
Kapoun is a self-professed fitness addict. He credits his workout regimen and strict diet for enabling him to complete the swim.
