RCMP say a 22-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle collision in northern New Brunswick.

The Mounties say the crash happened Friday around 5 p.m. on Route 430 near Bathurst.

Police say a vehicle began to hydroplane during heavy rain and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The man, from Rough Waters, New Brunswick, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The victim's name has not been released pending the notification of family.
