Viewer captures gorgeous lynx wandering into his backyard

Monday, November 12, 2018, 4:29 PM - Check out the gorgeous creature that recently wandered into a Weather Network viewer's backyard in Falcon Lake, Manitoba.
Jay Smith submitted the above footage, which was captured on Sunday, to The Weather Network.
"Had a visitor in the backyard at the lake," Smith says in the video's description.
"First daytime video I’ve gotten of him/her usually they come around at night."

The lynx is the most widespread wild cat in Canada and is best identified by its tufted ears and large paws, although they are sometimes mistaken for bobcats.
While they are captured on camera from time to time it's usually from a much farther distance, but the security camera allowed for a far closer view than we're used to seeing.
The lynx is not an endangered species and has plenty of space to roam, with a total North American range of 7.7 million km2 -- although some of that range has been lost to deforestation and human activity.
