Wednesday, July 27, 2016, 7:02 PM - Violent storms hit the Saguenay, Quebec region Wednesday, pounding the area with tennis-ball sized hail that smashed cars and torrential rain that led to heavy localized flooding.

At the height of the storm, more than 6,000 customers were without power.

There were several reports of torrential downpours, dark skies and strong winds. The fast-moving storms moved out of the area as the evening commute drew to a close.

Rain then moved into the Quebec City region, tapering through the evening.
