It will be a soggy start to the Labour Day weekend across much of southern BC.
A moist system moving towards Vancouver Island will result in heavy rain at times on Thursday.
Between 30-50 mm of rain is forecast in areas near the north shore, southern sections of the Sunshine Coast and Howe Sound, with up to 70 mm possible in the hardest hit places.
Isolated thunderstorms could also contribute to these rainfall amounts expected through Friday.
It's quite the contrast to last month, when several dry records were broken.
For the first time since record keeping began, no rain was recorded at Vancouver's International Airport for the entire month of July. Vancouver also broke its “Sunniest Month Ever” by receiving over 390 hours of sunshine through July.
