Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, dime to ping pong-sized hail and heavy rains.

A low pressure system followed by a cold front triggered thunderstorms in southeast Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba Saturday.

"Storms are located near the Saskatchewan and Manitoba border at Spy Hill, SK and Angusville, MB and are tracking east towards Millwood and Waywayseecappo," said EC in a statement at 3:20 p.m. CDT.

The storms are expected to exit Saskatchewan late Saturday afternoon, but will continue in Manitoba throughout the evening, adds EC.

Residents are advised to monitor our ALERTS page as additional watches and warnings may be issued.
