From Apples to Absolute Zero…the top ten poll questions of 2014

The Conversation
Special to The Weather Network

Monday, December 15, 2014, 6:00 AM - Looking back at a year's worth of Coffee Breaks we discovered that Canadians were passionate in their opinions on a number of topics ranging from the most pesticide laden fruit, answer apples, to the coldest it can possibly get, answer absolute zero or negative 273 degrees Celsius, with a lot of weather-driven conversation in between.

We analyzed the poll results and in among our findings were your thoughts on climate change, the mission to Mars, flu shot pros and cons, whether you would prefer bitter cold over multiple inches of snow and oh, a LOT of sympathy for those poor snowed-in people in Buffalo. (I think we are well aware that we dodged a bullet there). In fact the topic of snow even inspired user Margo Snider to wax poetic!

Margo Snider – "Scrape, scrape, scrape, frigid ice. Rigid, stuck to the gravel. Crunch, crunch, crunch, the hard shell cracks, heavy weight beneath. Lurching, bending, heave the white load up and over, onto the boulevard. Look, ahead? Hopeless. Thick, white, wet punishment. Behind? Relentless. All progress erased." - Thursday, November 20, 2014
