Southern Ontario is cooling down as February comes to an end.

Not much active weather is expected for the region during this upcoming week except for a certain blood-chilling trend: the winter cold is returning once again.

"All this week excluding today [Toronto] will be 10 degrees below normal for the afternoon high," said Brian Dillon, meteorologist at The Weather Network. "The wind chill will be between -15 and -20"

And that will be the same situation for all of the GTA.

A clipper could bring a couple of centimetres of snow to southern Ontario on Thursday. Otherwise, little more than flurries are expected for the week.

Snow squall warnings were issued for some areas east of Lake Superior.

There is potential for active weather to make its way into the province during the first week of March. but the extent and the specifics will only become clear closer to the date.
