Wednesday, February 8, 2017, 7:14 PM - Trees, power lines and roads were coated in ice across southern and eastern Ontario Tuesday as a winter storm passed through the region.
Freezing rain warnings were widespread across most of the province Tuesday before dropping slowly, with ice accretion of 4 to 8 mm on wires and tree branches reported in some locales.
Freezing rain lingered for the Ottawa Valley into pre-dawn Wednesday, and temperatures temporarily surged to above seasonal before dropping below zero once again, raising some risk of flash freeze in areas where rain had recently fallen.
