Friday, January 13, 2017, 3:06 PM - Mother Nature shows no remorse during the winter. First there were the two bull moose found frozen mid-battle and now we have a fox encased in a block of ice. A hunter in south Germany discovered the frozen animal in the Danube river in Fridingen, a small German town.

It is believed the fox slipped and fell into the icy river water, where it would not last long in the frigid waters.

About four weeks after discovering the mammal, Franz Stehle extracted it from the ice and put the animal on display outside of his family's hotel as a reminder of the dangers of the icy Danube, according to news agency DPA.
