A recent article on the Huffington Post features the work of artist Evan Holm who, according to the Post, used an innovative blend of nature and technology to create an underwater turntable.

The end result?

You can now play records underwater.

That got us thinking about other unusual things you can do under water.

As it turns out, you can do just about anything -- provided you're willing to get a little creative.

Here are seven other surprising things you can do underwater.

7. Get married

This couple tied the knot at Grand Bahama Island in The Bahamas on May 16, 2012.

Not many people can say their wedding guests included a dolphin.

6. Carve pumpkins

If you happen to find yourself in the northern Mariana Islands in October, you might be able to take part in this annual contest.

5. Perform jazz music

Like this video's YouTube description says, this is "almost totally pointless".

4. Mail a letter

Why you would ever need to mail a letter underwater is beyond us, but if you ever feel the need, you can do so in Malaysia, Japan, St. Thomas, Vanuatu and Paradise Island.

3. Grab a bite to eat

The Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is a must-see for tourists in the Maldives. Enjoy European cuisine 4 metres below sea level in the world's first glass-encased underwater restaurant.

2. Have a bike race

This particular race lasted 4.48 hours, setting a new world record.

1. Create abstract art
