Monday, December 3, 2018, 5:34 PM - Police in Lincoln, Neb., arrested a 26-year-old for impaired driving Saturday after the male driver veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

The man told authorities he was forced to drive "like Ace Ventura," with his head out of the window because it was raining and his vehicle's windshield wipers were inoperable, according to 1011 Now.

The collision occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday. A report filed by the Lincoln Police Department says the man went over a curb, struck and uprooted a tree. The vehicle hit a retaining wall before finally coming to a stop.

While no one was injured, the man totaled his vehicle and caused about $500 in damage. He was taken into custody with a blood-alcohol of .137, according to the police report.

In the 1994 film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, actor Jim Carrey is seen driving with his head out of the window due to a damaged windshield.
