Sunday, July 12, 2015, 1:47 PM - Emergency workers removed dozens of animals from a negligent pet spa after police received tips about the facility's poor conditions.

Staff first entered the kennel in eastern New Hampshire on Friday, July 10. There were 55 dogs contained in crates, and the floor was covered in fecal matter, according to a CNN report.

In an interview with CNN's Suzanne Roantree, Sgt. Robert King with the Ossipee, NH police said the the emergency workers found dogs of various breeds and ages.

"[E]verything from little puppies that weigh five-to-10 pounds, all the way to a Saint Bernard. In some cages, there were three, four, five dogs in a very small kennel. Some of the kennels were way too small for the dogs, and some of the kennels were certainly inadequate for what they were being used for," King said, adding that the conditions of the kennel were overwhelmingly bad.

Eight cats were also rescued from the property, and several dogs were returned to their owners.

All animals found were taken to various rescue shelters in New Hampshire for recovery. According to police, the facility's owners declined to comment on the conditions.
