Dog stuck in ice rescued in Saskatchewan

Monday, December 4, 2017, 6:42 PM - Firefighters in Saskatchewan have saved the life of a dog after it became stuck in an icy creek whilst on walk in Swift Current Wednesday.

A firefighter can be seen sliding along the ice on his stomach, whilst another firefighter holds a rope attached to him.

The video, which was uploaded onto Facebook by of one of the firefighters, has garnered over 115,000 views.

The video's caption reads 'Yesterday afternoon, our firefighters were busy at the creek rescuing someone's pet. They allowed their dog to run off the leash when it ventured out onto the ice and fell through. Quick action calling the fire department helped save their pet.'

The firefighter went on to warn people 'please keep your pets and children away from the creek, the ice is thin and not safe.'
