Canada's Atlantic provinces will be in for an icy, windy treat Sunday, but the rest of Canada will be quite different . The Prairie provinces felt record-high temperatures, and Ontario has finally entered the mild-weather zone. Here is your coast-to-coast outline of what to expect.

Atlantic Canada: STORM WATCH

  • Maritimes: Snow and heavy wind gusts make for blizzard-like weather throughout the Maritimes as a storm unfolds. Halifax could see some ice pellets, and localized snowfall amounts of up to 50 cm.
  • Newfoundland: Snow will push through Newfoundland afternoon, getting heavier through the evening and overnight -- especially for the Avalon Peninsula.
  • Atlantic Canada Spring Outlook: The stormy pattern across Atlantic Canada this winter will likely continue into April with the potential for late-season winter-like storms, according to The Weather Network’s 2015 Spring Outlook for March, April and May.

Ontario and Quebec

  • Ontario: All the weather is combined north of the Greater Toronto Area, which means rain-snow showers are likely for cottage country tomorrow. Calm and sunny weather in the GTA tomorrow, with a high of 6 C.
  • Quebec: Freezing precipitation in extreme southern Quebec will switch to snowfall overnight through Sunday, a total of approximately 2 to 5 cm. Higher amounts of snowfall can be expected north of Montreal.
  • Ontario Spring Outlook: Arctic air will linger deep into spring, creating the potential for late season snowfalls in parts of Ontario, according to The Weather Network’s 2015 Spring Outlook for March, April and May

Western Canada

  • Prairies:After record-breaking high temperatures in Alberta and Saskatchewan Saturday, a wind warning will ease through these provinces Sunday. Alberta will go through a significant cool down on Sunday, but Saskatchewan and Manitoba will hang onto the warmth until Monday.
  • British Columbia:A stateside system will result in rainfall in Vancouver in Victoria, with amounts of up to 20 mm. Some of that moisture will push into southern Alberta Sunday evening, which may lead to snow in southwest Alberta.
  • West coast Spring Outlook: B.C. is ahead of the pack in Canada, having experienced spring-like weather already in the latter half of winter. Expect March, however to be close to seasonal in temperature. After a cold few days to start the month in the Prairies, a period of spring-like temperatures is expected through the second week of March. The mild temperatures will not be here to stay.
