Friday, October 19, 2018, 4:14 PM - Earlier this month, Pete Keogh was getting ready to start work and leave home in Springwater, Ontario when he and his colleague Jake Davis noticed a young coyote with a construction pipe stuck on its head.

Keogh suspects it was chasing a tiny rodent that darted through the pipe, and that's when the accident occurred.

The pair isn't sure where the pipe came from or how long the coyote was stuck inside it, "but he was wedged in there pretty good," Davis tells The Weather Network.

After a few failed attempts to pull and the tube off, they used a pair of scissors to make an incision and rip the pipe off.

Once freed, the coyote ran away.

"It was saying thank you to us," Keogh said.

They posted the video to Facebook, where it's been well-received.

Keogh and Davis said they "felt good" after rescuing the canine.

"It knew we were there to help," Keogh said.

"After a minute, there was no more struggle when we we trying to get the pipe of ... it just relaxed and let us do our thing."
