Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 2:54 PM - A bourbon distillery in Kentucky is set to receive a violation notice for spilling liquor into nearby rivers, killing about a thousand fish near Bardstown.

Videos of dead fish have been circulating social media all week, CNN reports.

On Friday morning the side of a barrel warehouse collapsed, compromising 9,000 of the 18,000 barrels of bourbon inside.

Nobody was inside the structure at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.

Local authorities said two bodies of water were contaminated and plan to fine Sazerac Inc., the distillery's parent company, up to $25,000 per day for "failure to report a release and the pollution of waters."

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
