Boo, the 'worlds cutest dog' that loved weather, has died
Saturday, January 19, 2019, 3:56 PM - Many are mourning the loss of a furry social media star, the Pomeranian dog named Boo, who recently passed away at the age of 12.
According to his owners, Boo died from a "broken heart", as he was left devastated when his longtime canine companion, named Buddy, died in 2017 at the age of 14.
Boo and Buddy had lived together for 11 years and Boo began to show symptoms of heart problems after Buddy's death.
The owners notified social media users of Boo's passing and wrote on their posts that "We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us."
Over the years Boo has collected an impressive social media following, including over 16 million followers on Facebook and over 561,000 followers on Instagram.
Boo has also participated in numerous business ventures including a contract as an ambassador for a US airline Virgin America, several TV appearances, and mingled with celebrities including Seth Rogan and Khloe Kardashian.
In addition to his busy work schedule, Boo had his own weather app where he appeared under the forecast dressed for any and every weather condition.
During the ten years of Boo's social media presence, many fans took the time to write to Boo's owners and share their stories of how Boo "brightened their days and helped bring a little light to their lives during difficult times".
"And that was really the purpose of all this...Boo brought joy to people all over the world."
