Miley Cyrus: Stick to twerking, B.C. leader says. Here's why

Friday, September 11, 2015, 9:16 AM - Pop singer Miley Cyrus has taken to social media to rally her fans together to sign an online petition against British Columbia's wolf hunt.
However, B.C. premier Christy Clark says Cyrus should stop meddling in the province's environmental policies and to stick to what she knows best, twerking.
On Tuesday the pop singer posted several images on Instagram protesting the cull.
"I am shameless when it comes to making changes in a world that at times needs to reevaluate its morals when dealing with kindness towards compassion," Cyrus posted on social media. "I am not asking for $ or much of your time, just your signature so the government will stop killing these beautiful creatures (which if money is any motivation, over 2 million dollars will go into cruelly murdering the wild wolves)!"
By Wednesday afternoon the petition on Change.org received over 200,000 signatures.
The controversial wolf control program is about to enter its second year. Clark says Cyrus is uninformed about the cull and says it's necessary to help protect endangered mountain caribou.
Conservation group Pacific Wild launched the petition to end the cull, accusing the government of wrongfully blaming wolves for the caribou population decline.
"The province is merely using wolves as a scapegoat for their own inaction. They should be protecting adequate levels of habitat for species such as endangered caribou," Pacific Wild executive director Ian McAllister told CTV News. "That is the real issue. It's not the wolves."
The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources uses penning projects to increase calf survival rate among endangered caribou herds, according to CTV. The Ministry claims targeted wolf removal is necessary to protect the species. Meanwhile, wolves are "not a species of concern."
There are approximately between 5,300 and 11,600 wolves in B.C.
