Betsey Richards was on a bus into New York when suddenly everybody pinned themselves to the window and started screaming.

"It was snowing out and it was snowing money," she recalls.

"It was literally money all over the highway."

Richards says people were jumping out of their cars to grab the loot.Meanwhile, the truck driver could be seen running across the highway trying to collect the cash.

Police are investigating, but they aren't sure yet exactly how much money is missing.

Investigators suspect a faulty door on the truck played a role in the incident.

The cash-nado contributed to at least two car crashes. It's not clear if there were any injuries.

Police are appealing to the public to submit videos of the incident.
