    Wind chill warnings are in effect for parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba as the temperature drops Wednesday evening.

    Parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba are going to fee like -40°C Wednesday night, prompting Environment Canada to issue a series of wind chill warnings for eastern sections of the provinces.

    In some places, the freezing temperatures will be accompanied with winds of up to 20 km/h, making it feel even colder.

    The chill is expected to ease a bit on Thursday only to return during the evening, when the nightly low could plunge below -30°C.

    At these extreme temperatures fostbite can occur in less than 10 minutes.
