Swept off my feet ... by the wind

By Chris Scott
Chief Meteorologist
Thursday, March 27, 2014, 7:16 PM

I'll never forget what it felt like when I was swept off my feet by the powerful winds in Grand Etang, NS Wednesday.

It's hard to describe that momentary loss of control.

ATLANTIC CANADA STORM RECAP: Chris Scott will be returning to The Weather Network's headquarters on Friday. Stay tuned for a more in-depth look at his time in Grand Etang.

At the time, we were seeing wind gusts equivalent to a Category 2 hurricane.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Atlantic Canada is full of weather geeks. We met one gentleman who knew the strength of the wind gusts in Grand Etang before we did.

The people in Nova Scotia are welcoming, and they know their weather.

That's something I can appreciate.
