Depending on which cable/telco carrier you are subscribed with, when you are channel surfing, if you stop on The Weather Network Channel, the app will automatically load. This option has been chosen by the cable/telco carrier in order to provide you with the most hyper-local weather information available.

Changes on the cable/telco carrier side have created limitations which may have reduced the level of local weather available solely through the base broadcast, so the app is launched to ensure the most local data is loaded for you to enjoy.

You can exit the app and continue surfing by pressing back on your remote or by using the menu to exit.
