Recommended Action
Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.

Yellow Advisory - Blowing Snow

Description

Poor visibility in blowing snow is expected.

What:
Significantly reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow.
Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm.

When:
Early this morning through this evening.

Additional information:
Southwesterly winds becoming westerly gusting near 50 km/h will result in widespread blowing and drifting snow. The blowing and drifting snow will be most pronounced in open and wind exposed areas.

In addition, occasional snow squalls are possible this afternoon, with poor visibility remaining the predominant hazard.

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility. Road closures are possible.
