Yellow Warning - Winter Storm
A winter storm is expected.
What:
Total snowfall and ice pellet amounts near 10 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Freezing rain with ice build-up of 3 to 5 mm.
When:
Beginning Thursday afternoon or evening and ending Friday afternoon.
Additional Information:
A Colorado low will bring mixed precipitation to the area. The precipitation is expected to begin as a mix of snow and ice pellets Thursday afternoon or evening before switching over to ice pellets and freezing rain Thursday night. Areas near Earlton may transition to rain Friday morning as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark.
A rainfall warning is also in effect for some locations as the combination of heavy freezing rain and rain may lead to localized flooding. Please refer to the rainfall warning for details.
