Description

A prolonged period of snowfall is expected.

Locations: Southwestern shore from Digby to Halifax counties.

Total snowfall: 10 to 15 cm, possibly higher along parts of the Atlantic coast.

Time span: late this afternoon until Monday night.

Remarks: Snow will spread west to east beginning late this afternoon, reaching the HRM by Sunday evening. The heaviest snow is expected this evening and into Monday morning, though may intensify again during the day on Monday. The snow is expected to be wet and heavy as temperatures remain near the freezing mark.

There is some uncertainty as to where the heaviest snowfall will occur as snow may transition to or mix with ice pellets or rain along parts of the coast during the day on Monday.
