Description

Rain with elevated freezing levels may result in localized flooding.

Where:
North Columbia, Kinbasket, West Columbia, Trans Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, Arrow Lakes - Slocan Lake, Kootenay Lake.

When:
From this evening until Wednesday morning.

Impacts:
The mix of snowmelt and rainfall may lead to localized flooding in valleys and low-lying areas.

Additional information:
An atmospheric river brings moderate rain and elevated freezing levels to the region. Periods of light rain today will intensify this evening with total rainfall amounts of 25 to 45 mm expected by Wednesday morning. This rain, accompanied by freezing levels of 2000 to 2500 metres, will fall on the recent snowfall accumulations and will lead to additional mountain snowmelt.
The rain is expected to ease by Wednesday morning.
