Winter storm forces REM closure, wreaks havoc on roads around Montreal
A winter storm is leading to difficult road conditions around Montreal, and has led to service disruptions on the city's light-rail network.
Snowfall warnings are in effect for a number of areas, including Montreal and the Laurentians. Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow is expected in the area.
Police in Longueuil reported a number of accidents already Thursday morning, including on Highway 132.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the REM said service was interrupted between the Bois-Franc and Ville-de-Mont-Royal stations in all directions.
In a social media post, the REM wrote the shutdown is due to weather conditions and it does not know when service will resume.
Shuttle buses will be available to public transit users in the meantime, it wrote.
