Power restored for almost all New Brunswick customers
Power has been restored for all but eight N.B. Power customers as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Thousands of people were without power in southern and central New Brunswick, with around 7,000 customers still out as of 7 a.m., according to N.B. Power's online outage list.
The majority of the outages on Tuesday morning were in Charlotte County in the southwest.

L'École Mgr-Mattieu-Mazerolle, in Riviere-Verte, in the francophone south-west district stayed closed for the day because of the outage.
The outages happened as rain and winds of about 75 km/h rolled across New Brunswick on Monday morning. According to N.B. Power, most of the outages were the result of an outage in the transmission system.
Central and southwestern parts of New Brunswick were especially hard hit during the day, but Madawaska County in the northwest had the majority of outages by the end of the afternoon.

N.B. Power spokesperson Dominique Couture said Monday no one from the corporation was available for an interview about why the power failures happened.
"The majority of customers without power in the Fredericton area are currently impacted by an outage in the transmission system," Couture said.
"Crews are currently on site to investigate and restore power safely and efficiently to customers. We are also seeing scattered outages due to high winds and significant rain in certain areas which crews are addressing at this time."
