Wednesday's severe storms generated Canada's first tornado warnings of the year, with reports surfacing of a funnel cloud in Manitoba and a possible landspout tornado in Alberta, along with widespread hail, strong winds and heavy downpours.
Canada's first tornado warnings of the year were issued in parts of southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba Wednesday after severe storms capable of producing a twister rolled through and were spotted on radar.
While nothing has been confirmed to have occurred at this point, there were reports of a funnel cloud in Manitoba and a landspout tornado in Alberta.
The storms still packed quite a punch, bringing heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts and widespread hail in many Saskatchewan and Manitoba communities on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Much of Western Canada, from British Columbia through all three Prairie provinces, were at risk of thunderstorms Wednesday. The focus was on southeastern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba for severe thunderstorms, coming to fruition with the tornado warnings.
A broad trough was responsible for bringing a widespread thunderstorm risk across Western Canada this week. Wednesday was the final day of a far-reaching storm threat as a ridge in the jet stream is forecast to build by the end of the week, bringing hot temperatures and an end to the active weather.
Below is a selection of visuals from the storm that were circulated on social media Wednesday.
