Massive icicle falls from building, destroying entrance (VIDEO)

Icicles can be pretty, but also pretty dangerous. This clip from St Petersburg in Russia captures how a giant icicle is being removed from a roof, then crashes down and dramatically destroys the entrance to the building.

The footage filmed on February 10 shows workers trying to crush the huge block of ice about six meters long with several blows of a hammer.

Eventually, the icicle comes loose and falls, blowing away the porch visor and several drainpipes along the way. Luckily, no one was injured.
