Beware: A sharp temperature drop looms for Eastern Canada
Temperatures will fall in a hurry this weekend as a sharp cold front slicing across Canada finally reaches the eastern half of the country
A week of warmth across much of Eastern Canada was the envy of Western Canada, where temperatures have been dropping to the -20s over the past few nights.
All good things must come to an end, and unfortunately, this will put a damper on yet another weekend in Ontario and Quebec.

The first winter storm of the season for the Prairies is in the process of swinging a cold front across all of North America this weekend, stretching from Texas to Atlantic Canada.
As the front began its journey on Friday, it produced some impressive temperature gradients: 23°C to -3°C across Ontario; 30°C to 3°C in Texas; and a spread of 31°C to 2°C across 600 km in Missouri. The latter temperature gradient took the cake, beating Ontario’s temperature spread by twice as short of a distance.

By Saturday afternoon, the front will have already cut through southern Ontario and begun heading through southern Quebec, sending temperatures on a downward spiral throughout the day thanks to northwest wind gusts of 40-60 km/h.
Atlantic Canada will be the place to be for the weekend – to start, anyway.
Much of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia will surpass 20°C, but the real treat will be the warmth without the rain!
The party will come to an end on Sunday as temperatures drop 15°C, continuing to drop for the last couple days of October, when daytime highs will struggle to break the freezing mark.
