Photos: April showers? More like April shovels for southern Alberta
What a lovely winter Calgary is having this spring.
We get it, Canada. It has been cold.
Many of us are still bundling up -- but in several parts of the country, you can see the grass.
That isn't the case for Calgary, Alberta, because Mother Nature decided to play a belated April Fools prank on the city.
On Thursday, residents woke up to snowy roads and traffic delays.

The snowy conditions are courtesy of a low-pressure system over Montana, combined with easterly winds and upsloping snow along the Rockies, which could bring upwards of 20+ cm is possible through Thursday to parts of southern Alberta.
Areas outside of the heavier snow bands could see 5-10 cm accumulation through Thursday.
Seasoned Albertans know this type of weather isn't out of the ordinary in spring.
"Remember, it is very normal for April precipitation to fall as snow at times, especially on the Prairies," writes Weather Network meteorologist Doug Gillham.
