Weekend snow could blanket parts of southern Ontario with a fresh 10 cm
A Colorado low will scrape southern Ontario over the weekend, bringing a widespread 5-10 cm of snow
Winter has certainly kicked it into high gear with the start of February, as colder temperatures and back-to-back systems make their way through Ontario.

After Friday's snow squalls across the traditional snowbelt regions, a more widespread snow takes aim for later Saturday. Folks from Windsor to Toronto, and up toward cottage country should prepare for a fresh blanket of snow to arrive as a Colorado low skirts the area.
Impacts on the road shouldn't be as severe this time around, however, given the weekend timing and less people commuting. Regardless, be sure to keep up-to-date on your local weather alerts and always check the highway conditions before heading out.
DON’T MISS: Eyes on Eastern Canada for potential of significant weekend snowfall
Snow picks up across the Greater Toronto Area Saturday evening
The Colorado low will approach the Great Lakes region from the southwest this weekend. Moisture streaming in from the south, along with frigid air locked in place over southern Ontario, will allow snow to spread over the region beginning Saturday afternoon.
Snow will begin in the southwestern corner of the province on Saturday afternoon, eventually moving into the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) into the evening hours.

Heavy snow is possible at times through the overnight period, with some snow lingering into Sunday morning, as well.
While this should be a lighter, fluffier snow given the cold temperatures over the region, you’ll need to keep your shovel and snow brushes handy if you’re heading out to any Super Bowl watch parties on Sunday.

Folks around the GTA, and Niagara region can generally expect 5-10 cm of snow from this system. Ottawa looks to be spared by this system, with less than 5 cm of snow on the way for the National Capital Region. Around 5 cm is likely in the southwest, including Windsor.
More snowstorms to watch for this month
Very cold temperatures will remain locked in place for next week, as colder-than-normal conditions dominate during mid and late February. The pattern will continue to be very active, favouring a couple more significant snowfalls during mid-month.
