Up to 15 cm: Snow to complicate travel in parts of Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Poorly timed snowfall on Monday will slow down travel in parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with some areas in line to see 5-10+ cm by the time it departs

Bursts of snow are forecast for southern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba to start the work week, threatening to slow down travel and create some moderate disruptions.

A weak trough slides across the provinces overnight into Monday, creating conditions that will result in light-to-moderate snowfall.

Allow extra time for travel as snow will interrupt commute times in parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba on Monday. Some areas could see 5-10+ cm of fresh snowfall, with localized spots possibly seeing as much as 15 cm.

A weak trough slides across the provinces overnight into Monday, creating conditions to produce light-to-moderate snowfall.

Early Monday morning will see snowfall from Swift Current, east towards Regina, and then extend towards southwestern Manitoba as the focus for active weather.

By early afternoon, snow tapers to flurries for Regina, but intensifies near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border (Moosomin, Melita and Brandon).

Snowfall tapers west to east Monday overnight, with just a chance of lingering flurries through the pre-dawn hours Tuesday across southern Manitoba.

The heaviest snow zone will be south of Saskatoon towards Yorkton, and near the Regina area (10+ cm possible).

A storm max of 15 cm is possible north of Regina, but the confidence in the highest amounts remains low. 5-10 cm of snowfall forecast near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border.
