Unusual warmth could land the Maritimes on the November record board

Wednesday's temperatures in the Maritimes could put some locations in the top 10- or even the top-5 contention for the region's warmest November days.

Another mild fall day is on tap for the Maritimes on Wednesday as southwesterly winds will bring in warmer air.

Conditions will be quite windy as gusts can react 40-60 km/h, helping to push temperatures into potential record territory.

Temperatures on Wednesday are forecast to reach into the high teens, and some areas could even reach the low 20s.

That could put some locations in the top 10- or even the top-5 contention for the warmest November days.

The timing of the cold front is especially important as an hour faster means less time to warm up, and an hour later means more time for warmer temperatures.

Halifax airport, N.S., is forecast to reach 19 C, but with the potential to get slightly warmer, that could have them jump in the top 5 if it reaches 19.4 C.

A forecast of 20 C for Moncton, N.B., doesn’t crack the top 10, but once again, just another degree warmer and that will put them there.

Either way, it will feel like early fall versus late fall.
