Another burst of snow across Ontario before temperatures climb
Eyes are already on the next shot of snow in southern Ontario, following hot on the heels of the weekend storm.
You may not want to put away the shovels just yet, depending on where you are in southern Ontario. Another quick blast of snow is headed to the region Tuesday night, courtesy of a warm front associated with a Colorado low. The good news is this will be a short-lived round, as warming temperatures will transition the precipitation rain come Wednesday afternoon. Accumulations will be modest and light in comparison to what was received with the previous system. More on the incoming snow, rain and how different this coming weekend will look like, below.

TUESDAY NIGHT/WEDNESDAY: NEXT DASH OF SNOW MOVES IN, TEMPERATURES TO JUMP
Tuesday will be a quiet day across southern Ontario, a short break between the next round of unsettled weather. A warm front pushing ahead of a Colorado low will march into the region in the evening hours, bringing a dusting of snow through Wednesday morning.
Accumulations will vary, and they may change before the system tracks in. As of now, the heaviest amounts will fall across cottage country and parts of eastern Ontario -- 5-10 cm is expected. The Dundalk Highlands may pick up 5+cm, while the GTA will see minimal amounts, with less than 3 cm in the forecast.

"Given the snow on the ground for a large part of the region and cold temperatures at the start, we may get a pretty good burst of snow that can accumulate for a couple hours even into the GTA," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham. "Warm fronts are notorious for starting with overachieving bursts of snow."
By Wednesday afternoon, snow will switch to rain as the Colorado low moves in and raises temperatures in the southern half of the province. Daytime highs will be noticeably warmer for most areas, hitting the upper single digits in the GTA and southwest. However, conditions will be several degrees cooler in the east.
Rain will linger into early Thursday morning as the system pushes into Quebec. Totals won't be too substantial, with a widespread 10-15 mm across the south, less in cottage country and eastern sections.
LOOK AHEAD: WARMUP WITH POTENTIAL FOR POTENT TEXAS LOW NEXT WEEK
Forecasters are closely monitoring the potential for a Texas low to track into the Great Lakes early next week with strong winds, very mild temperatures and rain.
Behind this system, there could be a couple days of colder weather, but near seasonal, as we kick off December. No consistent cold or arctic air is in sight, but there are some signs that the pattern will turn more consistently seasonal in the second week of December.
