Saturday
Weather: An active Friday across the western Prairies prompted severe thunderstorm watches and warnings in the Alberta foothills, with hail reported around Calgary during the early evening hours.

We’ll see the activity continue on Saturday as high instability builds and a boundary draped across B.C. and the western Prairies serves as the focus for thunderstorms to develop with the heat of the day.

Severe thunderstorms are possible throughout the northern half of British Columbia and portions of northern and central Alberta. Dynamics are in place for the strongest storms to potentially develop around Edmonton.
Above-seasonal temperatures will persist on the southern Prairies as the heat dome over the western United States continues to extend north of the border.
Heat warnings continue Saturday for parts of southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as B.C.’s Okanagan, as daytime highs soar into the mid-30s for many communities.
