Toronto officially ties for its warmest year on record for 2024
Not only was 2024 the wettest on record, but also the warmest for Toronto
The year 2024 will go down in the history books for several new records achieved in Toronto -- one of the most impressive being how warm it rounded out to be.
The mean temperature for 2024 was a balmy 10.5°C, tying the previous record set back in 2012. Three of the five warmest years on record at Toronto airport have actually occurred in the past eight years.

While you may not remember any moments of "extreme" heat for 2024, the summer sat just slightly warmer than normal. The time period between December 2023 and February 2024 was also the warmest winter on record, helping to bump up the overall average for the year.
The spring of 2024 was the third warmest on record, with the fall season landing in the second warmest spot, as well.

So, while the warmer months weren't all that hot, the colder months remained well above normal pushing 2024 to tie for the warmest year ever.
DON'T MISS: Toronto officially marks its wettest year ever thanks to the summer downpours
It was also a record-setting wet year, mainly thanks to the severe summer downpours.

Flooding rain with extreme totals made up for the first and sixth wettest days on record for the region. This helped Toronto airport have its wettest year on record with 1,145 mm of precipitation recorded in 2024 alone.
