Water cooler stat: Toronto has recently reported its wettest 14 days in more than four years

It's been HOW wet?

If you've been wondering if it's been unusually rainy over this past weekend you're not alone, and we have the stats to back this statement up.

At Pearson International Airport, 89 mm of precipitation has fallen from July 17-30.

stat

About 75 percent of the 89 mm fell on July 17, the rainest day in over half a decade for Toronto, but the frequency of precipitation has been above normal.

On average, during the second half of July, one would expect rain on one out of every three days for Toronto. In reality, 2019 featured nearly 60 percent of the past two weeks featuring rain.

Thankfully, the umbrella can get a little rest this upcoming long weekend as much of southern Ontario enters into "winner" weather territory for warm and calm conditions.
