Heading east, cold air wrapping around the back side of the low-pressure system will bring the first flakes of the season into this weekend to parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Expect some travel delays around Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer with potential winter driving conditions.

Flakes will continue into Sunday morning across the Prairies, with a rain-snow mix in Manitoba through Sunday. Single-digit temperatures will be commonplace across the Prairies by Sunday.

Meanwhile, southerly flow ahead of the low-pressure system will bring warmer air into northwestern Ontario, bringing widespread showers to the region.

A wildcard across Eastern Canada
