20°C one day, and snow the next. Welcome to springtime in Alberta!
Snowfall warnings were issued for southern sections of the province early Wednesday, with the snow expected to intensify throughout the day. A widespread 5-10 cm is possible, but with some of the harder-hit areas picking up closer to 20 cm by the time all is said and done.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow, so drivers are urged to plan ahead, and to prepare for the changing conditions.

Snowfall warnings issued for heavy amounts through Wednesday

The snow will likely melt on contact, but with about 3 cm possible for areas in the southwest.

Across the higher elevations of the Rockies, between 10-20 cm of snow is forecast to fall throughout the day.
"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," says Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) in the snowfall warning. "Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow."
