Snow leaves Quebec man a prisoner in his own home

Imagine being imprisoned in your home because of the snow. That's what happened to a resident of Blanc-Sablon, located on the Lower North Shore, earlier this week.

The Blanc-Sablon home, located northeast of Quebec, was completely buried in snow, rendering all entrances, impassable on February 23, following a series of snowstorms.

Video posted online shows snow completely covering the front door of the home.

Authorities were sent to the scene to clear a path, an operation that lasted several hours. Thankfully, it was a success - ending with the resident being able to leave his home.

Nearly 246 cm of snow fell in the Blanc-Sablon area in January, more than the City of Montreal sees in a typical year.

Northern regions of Quebec were especially hard hit by recent snow, with nearly 30 cm accumulating in less than 24 hours.
