
Storm threats finally subside on the Prairies as sunshine returns
After a stormy start to the week on the Prairies, including numerous tornado warnings, conditions will finally improve Wednesday with fair skies and warm temperatures expected.
July has been an active month for the Prairies, with nearly non-stop severe weather action so far. This week was no exception with numerous tornado warnings in Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba. However, the culprit for the recent storms is now moving eastward towards southern Ontario, returning fair conditions and seasonable temperatures to the Prairies for the remainder of the week. Wednesday: Stormy pattern breaks down, return of fair weather
A strong disturbance barreling through the mid-levels of the atmosphere sparked multiple days of severe storms and tornado warnings stretching from Alberta to northwestern Ontario.

The risk for thunderstorms will linger in central Alberta and Saskatchewan Tuesday overnight, expected to track east and eventually diminish in the southern end of the latter in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday morning. Thunderstorms may also persist in extreme southeastern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario during this same time period.

On Wednesday, that same disturbance will track into the Great Lakes, shifting the threat for dangerous storms with it into southern Ontario.
This means the Prairies will catch a break from the persistent stormy pattern, with plenty of fair conditions and sunshine to be found across all three provinces.

In addition to that, Temperatures will remain warm, though not as hot as in recent days. Daytime highs will be into the mid- to upper 20s, approaching the 30-degree mark in many areas in southern Prairies. Feels-like values will be into the low and mid-30s in several locales.

Calmer conditions and more seasonable temperatures will blanket the region heading into the penultimate weekend of July, with plenty of sunshine and daytime highs clocking in around seasonal from Calgary to Winnipeg.
