A severe weather setup evolves Thursday in southern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. Funnel clouds near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border remain possible, but are not linked to a tornado threat.

Severe thunderstorms could develop Thursday afternoon in southeastern Manitoba, with the strongest activity likely between Winnipeg and Kenora.

High thunderstorm energy and wind shear may produce large hail, with a risk for supercells forming as storms lift northward.

By late afternoon and evening, the system's cold front will spark additional thunderstorms in northwestern Ontario.
These storms could bring heavy downpours, strong winds, and large hail. Thunderstorm activity is expected to continue overnight into Friday.

On Friday, the stalled low pressure system will bring ongoing unsettled weather to northwestern Ontario. Periods of heavy rainfall, accompanied by embedded thunderstorms, are expected throughout the day.
Rainfall totals could accumulate between 20-50 mm in localized areas.
