Risk for strong storms Friday evening and overnight
Storm initiation will begin stateside Friday afternoon before moving into Ontario near the warm front. Thunderstorm activity will likely begin as discrete cells before evolving into linear storm systems as the associated cold front pushes in.
Key hazards include large hail, heavy rain, and strong wind gusts. There is also potential for rotating storms, depending on the timing of the storm band.
Thunder Bay is forecast to see storm activity later Friday evening into the overnight hours. While intensity may weaken by this time, some severe conditions, including torrential rainfall, remain possible.
