Swath of snow puts parts of Quebec right into winter mode
The first snowfall of the season could bring up to 10 cm of snow to parts of Quebec through Thursday.
Early winter conditions have been spreading across much of the country, with Quebec in line for some of the first snowfall of the season with a low pressure system pushing in from the Great Lakes.

A widespread, wet snow arrived early Thursday for many along the St. Lawrence, including across the city of Montreal.
"The last time Montreal reported any snow accumulations was back on April 9 when the airport recorded 10 cm of snow," says Weather Network meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg. "So it's important to adjust driving conditions to the changing weather as winter tires are not mandatory for the province until December 1."
WIDESPREAD SNOW EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY
Accumulations will stay relatively light for most major cities with between 1-3 cm expected by the early afternoon. That snow likely won't stick around however, as ground temperatures are still relatively warm.
Through Thursday afternoon, temperatures are forecast to nudge just above the freezing mark so areas from Montreal to Trois-Rivieres will likely transition to light rain/snow mix as well as other communities along the St. Lawrence.
Higher snowfall totals are expected through the Laurentians and across central Quebec with 5-10 cm possible through Thursday.
"These conditions could cause rapidly deteriorating driving conditions," warns Environment Canada in a special weather statement issued for the region.
