Pop-up snowstorm snarls travel across Nova Scotia

The snow snarled travel across much of southern Nova Scotia, with numerous collisions and vehicles off the road.

A sneaky snowstorm burst to life Friday in Nova Scotia, triggering full-fledged snowfall warnings for Halifax and Lunenburg County and bringing substantial snow through much of the day.

Snow came down relatively quickly, catching some drivers off guard. Several collisions were reported, and some buses in Halifax struggled to navigate the slippery roads. Some areas were on track to receive more than 25 cm by day's end.

There's a few flakes ahead for the region this weekend, courtesy of a weak trough, but it doesn't look like it will amount to much more than light amounts or flurries.
